Everyone, just... pretend to be normal.

I have great expectations for the remake of TGWTDT. People keep banging on about how bloody fantastic the original Swedish version is (the good people at Empire Magazine, who (m?) I normally admire for their spot-on reviews, won’t shut up about how great it is) but I was never bowled over like the rest of the world seems to be. I mean, it’s OK, but it’s no master piece. The dialogue feels stilted at best and kind of ridiculous at times (Ingen! Alla!). Perhaps the things that bother me get lost in translation and you’re just left with the good bits. We’ll never know.

Now, David Fincher is an excellent director. Zodiac is the best thriller made in the last ten years. Fightclub is brilliant, as is The Social Network. Therefore I’m thinking that TGWTDT - the Hollywood remake, is going to be another kettle of fish entirely.

The above is a bit of a preview. I love how they all talk in a weird Swedish accent (the words ‘clock, ‘boat’ and ‘police’ especially, made me giggle).

One last thing; every time I see Christopher Plummer I just want him to pick up a guitar and sing Edelweiss.

Good Saturday

I met up with some friends down the bay today for lunch at Cafe Rouge. Had a beautiful sandwich with pan-fried mackerel, roasted tomatoes and horseradish mayo. After coffee and dessert we went to the pub for a pint and the first half of the the rugby game.

In the late afternoon I debated to go into town but it’s pretty much chaos on any given match-day; add to that Christmas shoppers and you got yourself a situation best avoided.

Instead I walked home with K and B and ended up in Boots finally buying a new camera (the old one has been busted since August).

Now it’s popcorn and season 2 of Pretty Little Liars.

This is pretty much me and my cat. 06.45 every single morning she starts chewing on my hair.

Today’s CC: Part 12

Today you only get one crush (I promise to compensate with a real hot gal tomorrow) for the simple reason that no one can really compete with this guy. Ten years ago I was ever so slightly obsessed, but I will not be judged. That crooked smile should make any sane person a bit weak in the knees.
